We're experimenting with a song of the day/week/whenever
moment podcast, but we're too lazy to go all out on it, so we're
taking the easy route and using
del.icio.us to build it for us,
then using FeedBurner to
sex it up a bit. The featured songs are also not directly hosted
by us, they are available for free download from a variety of artist
and label-sponsored web sites, we're just collecting up the links
to them in a useful way.
More info as we finish testing and roll it out, the actual podcast link
to subscribe with using iTunes et al. is:

If you go directly to this link with your web browser, if you're
lucky you'll get a nicely formatted page with more info and handy
subscribe links for various web-based aggregators, and if you're
not so lucky, you'll get ugly XML code, so add it in iTunes or your
favorite podcatcher instead of clicking on it in your browser!
A further comment on copyright — we are not hosting these songs, we do not have a license to do so. Our podcast is just a collection of links to these songs on other sites that are either run by the artists themselves or their record labels, or are music sites that have licensed these songs to provide them for free download. As far as we know, the songs are all licensed for free, private, personal, non-commercial use, so if you want to make any other use of them, you should contact the artist or their representative to ask permission. Our podcast itself (that is, the list of links to the mp3 files) is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 2.5 license, so have fun with it.
